This is one of those priceless ongoing gags that shouldn’t have worked… but it did. Every night, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ would include Matt Damon as a guest. And every night Kimmel would end his show with, "My apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time."
After months of this, Matt Damon finally made it one the show. A few second into Kimmel’s “interview” he said, "Sorry, but once again we are completely out of time." And this is when their little practical joke started to take wings.
A few months later, Jimmy Kimmel’s girlfriend, Sarah Silverman surprised Jimmy on the air with a music video called, “I’m F---ing Matt Damon”.
Not to be out done, Jimmy then produced a ‘We Are the World’ style retaliation video called “I’m F---ing Ben Affleck.”
The whole thing is pretty classic.
